Being approached to design a new Chalet in place of an existing mountain house presented us with a unique challenge and opportunity. While the capacity of the old house didn't align with the new requirements, we were enamored with its architecture and sought to honor its legacy in our design.

Drawing inspiration from the traditional charm of mountain architecture and the majestic surroundings, we opted for a solution rooted in the original house shape. Embracing the archetypal form of the saddle gable, we seamlessly integrated the new Chalet into its natural environment while paying homage to the timeless appeal of mountain retreats.

Our design approach was guided by a deep respect for the genius loci — the unique spirit and character of the site. We meticulously accentuated the breathtaking views afforded by the location, ensuring that each aspect of the Chalet was oriented to maximize its connection with the landscape.

Moreover, we endeavored to seamlessly blend the Chalet into its surroundings, both aesthetically and functionally. By harmonizing the architectural elements with the natural contours of the land, we created a sense of belonging and tranquility, allowing the Chalet to become an organic extension of the mountain terrain.

In essence, our design for the new Chalet is a testament to our commitment to preserving the essence of the original house while embracing the beauty and serenity of its mountain setting. It stands as a tribute to the past, a celebration of the present, and a harmonious integration into the timeless landscape.
